Challenge~ If you have/had any pets in your life. How did you decide on their names?
I have had a few pets in my life. When I was 12 I got a Bull dog/Weiner dog mix that was named Dusty. For the reason she has gray/brown and white fur. I still miss her cause when I was taken away from my Bio Mom. She was left behind and my step-father kicked her down the steps. :( Poor baby. At my first foster home I had 2 dogs they were already named Ben and Tuffy. We got 2 more dogs when I was there and their names were Wagger & Whitney. Kind of funny names but when Wagger would get excited his whole hindend would move, and Whitney would snort when he got excited.
Now having my own family I want my boys to have pets. I feel they are a wonderful thing to have be part of your family. We bought the boys a black lab mix March 2003 and we named him Jasper. He was the cutiest little guy. Not sure why we decided on that name but it fit him. Little did we know shortly after we got him, he wouldn't be with our family. Jasper was to be Austin & Devin's birthday gift. They are close for birthdays. But little did we know hw would come down with Parvo. Took him to the vet but there was nothing we could do to save him. After a great deal of pain and sarrow with this loss after a short time of him being part of the family. Neal & I decided to get another dog. We looked in the Sunday paper and found Otto. He was being given away as they had a baby and the baby was allergic to him. Boy we got luck. He is a wonderful dog. We also have Chloe. She is a cat we adopted her from a lady in the cities. So those two were already named. I had gotten a bird and named her after a friend of mine. Her nickname was Miss. Piggy, so I named my bird after her. She must of gotten sick cause she passed away after a few months.
I already have a named picked out for a Yorkie.Dont have her yet. But I'm planning on getting one some day hopefully soon. Her name is going to have special meaning.

Great post! ((HUGS!!)) for the passing of the pets you've lost! That's so tough when they pass over the rainbow bridge.
I know how lossing a pet can be almost as emotional as losing a child - I had a sweet puppy Bisson named Tono who suddenly at the age of 4 developed a cancer on his muzzle which the vet first thought as an dental absess. Turned outhe had brain cancer. Before we could take him to the oncologist he had passed. Watching him was like watching my child suffer the last few days.
