Proud of my son

With the new school year almost two weeks in I have to say I'm very proud. Devin brought home his first spelling list last Friday afternoon. Having to study them over the weekend. Then on Monday he ended up missing the practice test. As he was dealing with some stomach bug and was home ill. Devin came home today with the spelling test results. He got 11 out of 14 for his first test of the year. That's great in my eyes. Way to go Devin.

In his new school they do AR books. These books are accelerated reading. Students check a different book out everyday to read. They are earning points. Tuesday night he called and read to Neal's mom and last night he called his Nana (on his dad's side) to read to her. I know he loves reading to everyone. With AR books they need to read to three different people. Of course two are myself & Neal. We will try to change who he reads to on the phone. I'm so proud of how well his reading has accelerated.
