First Day of Second Grade 07~08

It's that time of year again, another new school year has finally arrived. This school year is different then the past years. Over the summer we moved so Devin was going to a new school. Austin went to live with his dad so he is also in a new school. One good thing is Devin does not have a long bus ride anymore. In fact its maybe five minutes.

To the left you see his smiling face waiting to go to the bus stop. Which is just across the street.

The photo on the right is with his new teacher. I met him at school to make sure he was OK and not overwhelmed. He even gave her a big hug. I know its going to be a great year for him with her as a teacher. Devin said he had a good day. He made some new friends and sounds so excited about the year. He made sure to make it known to me as he walked in the door he had no homework on the first day.
We did have a little bit of a scary moment as I was outside waiting for the bus to arrive. So I could get a pic of him getting off the bus as well as see how the day went. As I'm waiting and seeing all the kids get off. NO DEVIN. I started to panic. Where was my son? Try calling the school and of course the number was busy. Try to call bus company busy. Finally got a hold of the school nd Devin wasn't there. On to the next call the bus company. Get a hold of someone and as I'm explaining the issue he comes walking up. He was dropped off at the wrong stop. Not just a couple blocks away, but about a dozen, and 6 streets later. I took him to show me, so I could call the bus company back and let them know. I'm just glad he was able to find his way home since we just moved over the summer to this town. They are now going to make sure heisn't let off at the wrong stop again. I'm very happy he is safe and sound.
Will be updating about Austin's first day once I call to talk with him.
