In our new house I have been more into doing the theme decorating. Before I could never decide on something to do. Some of that might have also been that we rented. That makes it hard for a person to do a theme if you can not paint rooms. Our last landlord didn't mind so much if we painted rooms. It still was a little hard.
We have done two themed rooms so far in the new place. Devin (Austin when he visits) decided he wanted to have a Pirates room. It was fun looking for border and stuff to match. He wasn't able to get a border all over his room as the walls aren't all smooth, so it would not stay one. So we did one wall and then did some sticker decals. Then we bought him a cute little table set from Wal-Mart. He loves the way it turned out.
Then as you can see by my previous post that our kitchen is Roosters. I didn't want to paint it to much, so the border looks great. Neal has wanted this for as long as we have been together. Now my big goal is to hunt down different items for up top of the cabinets. Antique stores look out. LOL Nice thing is we have a couple in our new town, and our old town has a bunch too.
I have big plans for the living room. Just don't have it done yet. With the paneling I'm going to paint half of it and then do a Black Bear (Up North) theme. Found some border to do that at Menard's as well. Should look great with the oak wood work in this house. Looking forward hunting items for this room. When we go to see Neal's Grandma in Michigan they have a wonderful gift shop that has tons of neat Black Bear items. Then my best friend Tammy was just on vacation and went thru Montana. Found a neat gift shop. So I'm going to check out their website to order stuff from them as well. She said it was just packed with stuff.
Our bathroom is done in a birght fish them. Just to lighten it up and make it a little cheery. And as far as our bedroom well thats up in the air too.
