If any of you live in the northern part of the country, you know its been very cold. Here in Minnesota its been -17 below and -35 below wind chill. Very hard to stay cold. The weather man said last night that it hasn't been this cold in over a decade. My heart breaks thinking about animals that are out in this weather. As well as people who are less fortunate and don't have a warm place to go and stay warm. Today we decided to just stay home and keep warm. To cold to travel far or do much.
The boys are with their dad's this weekend. We decided to go out on a dinner date Friday night after we dropped Devin off. Off to the Olive Garden we went, Yummy! Never had a bad meal in all the years eating at this restaurant. Once we were finished with our nice dinner, we then decided to head to the mall. To do some walking around and window shopping. I have been looking at getting a better camera. Found one online at Ritz Camera so I wanted to stop in the store and see it in person. Was that ever a mistake. The salesman who came to help us, did not want to help us that was clear. Told him what we were looking for and he said "well I don't have any in the store, maybe the Mall of America will". OK then pick the phone up and check. Nope wouldn't even have it. Neal & myself turned and walked out. Very disappointed in the service from this man. Stopped into Lids (a baseball hat store) as Neal has been looking for a new hat. He couldn't make up his mind so we left. I was on the phone with my best friend Tammy. She told us to go check out National Camera Center. It was a couple blocks from the mall. We walked in took a look around, had a nice sales lady.

We ended up leaving the store with me getting a brand new camera. Olympus 7.1 digital camera. Its a wonderful little camera. Takes wonderful photos. Will be alot of fun to use this on our vacation this summer and photos of the family. I even get to take two free classes thru them. Just might have to take them up on this offer. Never know what I might learn. LOL We then headed back to the mall as Neal decided to get the Miller hat he has been looking at every time we are at the mall.
Last weekend we had Amber's pancake breakfast/silent auction. It went pretty well even tho we were competing with the library, and local churches that had stuff going on too. I would love to post pictures to share the paper bag albums I made just cant seem to figure out how to make it as a collage. Maybe one of these days I will so I can share them.
How was your weekend?

Wow what a great camera! And I am all with you on the cold weather concern for the outdoors animals; I am always amazed anything can survive nearly -50C at night. Our poor bunnies under our deck; I leave goodies outside when it's cold like this.
I'll be on the look out for pics from your new camera. I'm in the process of camera shopping right now!
Great blog!!
Brrr...don't ya love our MN weather?? LOL!!
Our weather in Michigan isn't much better. I fill my bird feeders only to find that I get three deer every night eating from them. I'll be glad whern the cold snap breaks...
